Umm. hey.

My blog can be found on my online comic website at comichideout.com I update the comic every other Monday and the blog about every 10 days or so.

The comic is about two housemates, one who thinks he is a superhero, one who would rather not be one. A light hearted comic with gaming jokes thrown in for good measure.

I have three major life mottos:
1/ Treat others as you wish to be treated
2/ Everyone is weird in their own weird way
3/ I am who I am and no one can change that but me

I enjoy video games, photography and digital art which are my major hobbies when I am not working.

Hello, I noticed you were using a lot of Comic Sans on your strip. I'm no expert but I think the over use of that font is generally frowned upon in design circles. I've found these sites quite useful.

Hope they're of some help to you. :)

Yeah I picked Comic Sans because it is nice and easy to read and it is on every pc. I didn't really think too much of it, does the font you use really make a difference if you can read it?

Thanks for the input though, I will check out the sites! Thank you for the feedback, I REALLY appreciate it!

I just did a small bit of research and it seems there is a small group of people who dislike Comic Sans because it is overused and because "These widespread abuses of printed type threaten to erode the very foundations upon which centuries of typographic history are built."

They don't give a practical reason for disliking the font other than it is hugely popular.

I think I will continue to use it until I find another font that fulfils my needs. I picked Comic Sans because:
1) It is easy to read
2) It isn't as harsh as Times New Roman so I feel it is more appropriate for a comic - it was designed with comics in mind and inspired from the fronts of 'Watchmen' and 'The Dark Night Returns'
3) It is popular - even if I broke my laptop or needed to work away from it I know I will always find my font on the pc, this is the major problem with using a downloaded script or making your own. So I picked Comic Sans BECAUSE it is overused

I do agree it is a bit boring and doesn't inspire, but then I am not a font specialist, it was just a Letterer then I would give it more thought, but as I am Letterer, Colourer, Inker, Editor, Pencil-er, concept artist, designer, webmaster and so on... I don't think I have time to study fonts.

But it is a valid point and I have spent a bit of time looking into it, so THANK YOU for bring it up and it is something I will look into in the future if I feel it would benefit my comic.

Hey, I didn't realise you did your own comic, that's totally sweet :D! You should definitely come along to the manga jams and contribute towards our little comic strips in the Gair Rhydd :D!
